This week Kostrzyn, Poland hosted the three day International Woodstock Festival. By “Woodstock” they might have been referring to rock bands playing, muddy fields, water dancing, flirtation and “getting high”. 2008’s Woodstock festival (left/top) boasted more logos, fewer bare breasts, children and L.S.D. than the Woodstock festival that took place in New York state in 1969 (right/bottom), but the aim is essentially the same. The Polish version is cursed with a heavy dose of nostalgia, and if the vibe seems a little forced perhaps this is why. This millennium’s Woodstock has been taking place annually since 2004 and is Europe’s largest outdoor music festival. Americans may not have heard of it because most of the many bands who perform are from the European Union. Check out Woodstock #1 and Woodstock International here. Which one would you rather be at?

Little lady Lourdes Leon and mother Madonna visited The Kabbalah Center in Manhattan again last night. Lourdes is an aficionado of American Apparel’s new Afrika leggings and she pairs the busy print perfectly with strappy gladiator sandals and a plain black tank top.

To anyone who might feel a certain empty spot in their heart for a cute young redheaded actress with a husky voice, I might suggest filling that nagging void with Emma Stone. Stone attended the the Westwood premiere of Pineapple Express last night wearing a flattering dark periwinkle mini dress with chunky black heels. You might know her from Superbad, in which she played the cool, but down to earth object of Jonah Hill’s affections.

Lindsay Lohan, who charmed us with her freckles and spunk from The Parent Trap to Mean Girls attended the Allure Magazine Cover Party in Beverly Hills, a few miles down the road, looking very blond and quite cheerful in a sexy black minidress and tall metallic heels. Lohan, just two years Stone’s senior, has appeared in few box office smash movies as of late, but continues to draw riveted attention from the public and media for her dramatic off-screen adventures. Who is more fun to watch?

James Franco arrived at The Ed Sullivan Theater for the taping of The Late show, with David Letterman yesterday looking sharp in a black suit and summery checked shirt. Franco’s real life sophisticated sheen is in stark contrast to the ultra laid back aesthetic of his character, Saul Silver in Pineapple Express. Many became familiar with Franco in his role of the adorable burnout, Daniel Desario in Freaks and Geeks. Let’s hope that Franco’s reunion with Judd Apatow & Co. results in such a memorable project. Johhny Hallyday may not elicit much of a swoon response to Americans under 50, but to The French, he is an Elvis figure, popular even into the millennium. He is seen these days at age 65, partying with Pamela Anderson, performing to huge crowds, attending fashion shows for the fashion label he co-runs with Christian Audigier and showing support for Nicolas Sarkozy. He has been married more than a couple of times and is the father of smoldering French starlet, Laura Smet. Check out Johnny in his other prime.

Maggie Gyllenhaall donned an uncharacteristically bright colored dress to the Japanese Premiere of The Dark Knight today. The Dark Knight star usually opts for simple dresses erring towards the flowy in dark colors with the occasional floral thrown into the mix. This neon-esque orange, lace dress shows off Gyllenhaal’s fit form, as most of the dresses she has worn have not. Orange in particular is a great way to make make people take notice, and for the understated Gyllenhaal, the effect is even more dramatic. Check out other head turning orange dresses here.

Singer/actress, Jennifer Hudson was spotted en route to the taping of her appearance on BET’s 106 & Park at BET Studios in Manhattan yesterday. It’s refreshing to see Ms. Hudson in a colorful, casual and youthful outfit after watching her at fancy events in stuffy formal gowns or blandly feminine dresses. It’s great to project a sophisticated and lady-like image, but those of us who became acquainted with Hudson via American Idol, know her to be a playful and original dresser with an edge. She looks great in safe ensembles at premieres and award ceremonies, but where is that flash of risk that set her apart on American Idol? Another floor-length dress with a plunging neckline?

Every girl starts dressing like a woman at some point, but it’s as though Jennifer went from dressing like a 24 year old to a 40 year old within four years. Granted, she rose to stardom at a ridiculously fast rate and what better way to fit in than by dressing accordingly, but I feel as though she hasn’t been true to herself. Hudson seems comfortable in her own skin here. Did her stylist take a day off?  What do you like better: sassy or sophisticated?

Estelle Getty, Known by most of the world as Sophia Petrillo on The Golden Girls, died today at at her home in Santa Monica California, three days short of her 85th birthday. She got her feet wet at the Yiddish Theater and later went on to play Harvey Fierstein’s mother in Torch Song Trilogy. It wasn’t until 1985, as the matriarch on The Golden Girls, that she became a household name.  Long Live Sophia!
