Paris Hilton’s My New BFF premiered on MTV Tuesday night… and it was HOT. Sixteen Paris Hilton BFF potentials made their débuts and by the end of the first episode 5 had already been sent home.  After the cuts, Paris said goodbye until next week stating “Okay I have to get back to my life now”.  I know many of you are rolling your eyes or gagging over your keyboard but Paris is definitely a busy woman.  While she is “famous for being famous” she is also a businesswoman, movie/TV star, singer, entertainer, fashion designer, model, author and more.  People love to hate her and people hate to love her.  Stay tuned for more of Paris’ BFF search where she hopes to find someone who loves her just as much as she loves herself…which may prove to be a real challenge.

Estelle Getty, Known by most of the world as Sophia Petrillo on The Golden Girls, died today at at her home in Santa Monica California, three days short of her 85th birthday. She got her feet wet at the Yiddish Theater and later went on to play Harvey Fierstein’s mother in Torch Song Trilogy. It wasn’t until 1985, as the matriarch on The Golden Girls, that she became a household name.  Long Live Sophia!

While ABC’s hit show Desperate Housewives is known for its weekly hour of drama, drama, drama, off the set it seems these ladies really do get along. Constantly seen laughing, hugging and joking together at numerous events, it is nice to see their working relationships are playful as well. The season finale we’ve all be desperately waiting for is on this Sunday night at 9/8c. Thank you ladies for keeping all the drama off the red carpet and on Wisteria Lane where it belongs!

Pimp That

Madonna turns out in style as she exits CBS studios in New York City for her appearance on BETs 106th and Park, airing on May 2nd. Hilarity is likely to ensue as hosts Terrence and Rosci plan to do yoga poses and dance moves, before The Material Girl’s critical eye. Madonna’s new video, 4 minutes featuring Justin Timberlake and Timbaland, will also premiere. Ciccone’s look is uptown all the way: savvy, a little tough and, of course glamorous. Her thigh boots, exaggerated gold chains and fur coat beg for a cane and fedora.

Pale Back of Hannah Montana Causes National Uproar

In the celebrity media’s desperate craze to find a superstar trainwreck even younger than Britney Spears or Lindsay Lohan, the blogs have been afire today (oh, and by ‘blogs’ I mean The New York Times) with criticism of Miley Cyrus’s Vanity Fair shoot, in which she appears ‘topless’. And by ‘topless’ I mean covered up with a blanket in a pose more or less devoid of sexual connotation, shot by Annie Leibovitz.

Damage control? Mission: Impossible for the Cyrus clan. They are now claiming that poor little Miley was ‘manipulated’, as if this was some kind of half-ass pap shoot, when in fact Miley’s parents were present at the shoot and all the photos were approved by the Cyrus family. Vanity Fair’s response to the controversy pointed out the latter fact, pretty much putting the lid on the theory that Miley had no idea what was going on (perhaps being half-naked in a studio might have tipped her off).

Do Hannah Montana fans even read Vanity Fair? I don’t think so. Any 11-year-old girl reading V.F. is probably more interested in Muslim cultural crises and the causes of rising oil costs than Hannah Montana’s beautifully-lit back. Simmer down, everyone!

Late Night With Barry Gibb

Because the world apparently adores Barry Gibb impressions and the unparalleled piece of modern cinema that is Fever Pitch, Jimmy Fallon will be taking Late Night reins from Conan O’Brien next February when the red-haired funnyman exits the show to take over for Jay Leno’s Tonight Show. If I am watching bad TV at that hour, I hope someone is still running Golden Girls, though in Fallon’s defense he could always bring on Queen Latifah and re-create some of my favorite scenes from the Taxi remake.

Kim Kardashian, Khloe Kardashian, Kourtney Kardashian, and Kris Jenner sex-up the red carpet at the season two launch party for Keeping Up With The Kardashians at Les Deux in Hollywood. Can we get into how Kim and Kourtney are so itty bitty and Khloe and Kris are so tall in comparison? Makes me go hmmmm…

Dina Lohan and her mini-me protégé Ali Lohan arrived looking eerily similar at a screening of High School Confidential in New York City. The mini LiLo and mom-manager are set to star in E!’s Living Lohan, a reality TV program (what else?) that will follow the twosome as they suffer through the trials and tribulations of making young Ali a star. Will you watch Living Lohan? Discuss!

Hilarious British comic Tracey Ullman has just nabbed her own American show, Showtime announced yesterday. Titled “Tracey Ullman’s State Of The Union”, the program is a sketch comedy show in which Ullman takes on Hollywood and contemporary pop culture. The show is set to premiere on Showtime in March.

Is Ullman using British writers?
