Country music has found its new It Girl. At the 41st Annual CMA Awards, 17-year-old stunner Taylor Swift picked up the coveted Horizon Award, recognizing the enormous career progress of the statuesque high school senior from Nashville. Swift rose to fame first on the internet – a little-used marketing outlet for country music – using her MySpace page to promote her 2006 single “Tim McGraw.” The radio-dominated industry quickly welcomed her, and her self-titled 2006 debut album has already reached Platinum sales. The blonde starlet, who can always fall back on a Joss Stone costume for Halloween, cuts an imposing figure even without the diamond-studded guitar she rocked at the CMA Awards. At 5’11”, she already commands a stage. Luckily for country fans, her music matches those leggy heights - follow the link to Taylor’s MySpace page and listen for yourself!
