The past few years have been mixed for Ryan Phillippe. Reese Witherspoon (In Dolce & Gabbana) and Jake Gyllenhaal attended a photocall for their movie Rendition at the Rome Film Festival in Italy. Witherspoon and Gyllenhall have purposely been standing a few feet away from one another during photo opportunities to squash recent rumors that the co-stars have been dating. The rumored couple was reportedly “…doing their own thing…They did not even talk to each other at the post-reception except [for] when a photographer pulled them together for a picture with the director—and he was standing in between them,” as reported by usmagazine.com. The onlooker elaborated, “You know how actors are who are in projects together — they always go up to each other and say, ‘It’s so good to see you!’ For actors to not talk to each other, they have to either hate each other — which they don’t — or they’re hiding something.”

Reese Witherspoon smiled pretty as she was named as the first ever Avon Global Ambassador at Regent Beverly Wilshire in Beverly Hills. In her new role, Witherspoon will serve as the honorary chairman of the Avon Foundation, focusing on breast cancer, domestic violence, and emergency relief initiatives, in addition to her spokeswoman position for Avon’s beauty brand. With great awe, Witherspoon was impressed with the fact that “[Avon] has been able to effect real change in the communities in which it does business, and by how committed the company is to providing economic and personal fulfillment to women all over the world…[is] proud to be joining the great philanthropic work.” The 31-year-old, Oscar-winning actress and mother of two, wore a cream Nina Ricci cotton pencil skirt, layered cashmere and linen tanks, paired with snakeskin Manolo Blahniks for the big announcement.
