Actress Monet Mazur shined brightly with an asymmetrical french braid wrapped around her bronzed face at  Cipriani’s on Tuesday in New York City.  She was there for the New Yorkers for Children Gala.  Her platinum locks give her a Swiss Miss innocence, but I did a double take thinking the color was a geriatric white.  She wore a similar hairstyle in January (right) with a darker hair color to less dramatic effect.  What do you think?  Is the platinum a keeper?

No one quite knows what happened with the breakup between Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams. Ryan has even gone on record stating that Rachel was “one of the great loves of my life.” Patricia Clarkson, who is a good friend of Ryan’s and now costars with Rachel McAdams in Married Life, did not have to choose side in the tender split between the Notebook paramours. Playing the perfectly diplomatic friend, Clarkson and McAdams (in Alexander Wang) posed for pictures hand-in-hand, cheek-to-cheek at their New York City screening last evening. While red colored gowns were a strong presence on the red-carpet, there is one trend that hit two best dressed lists in one: the one-shouldered gown. A lingering trend from 2007, the trend-du-jour was best modeled by Anne Hathaway (in Marchesa) at the 80th Annual Academy Awards in Hollywood. Are you still feeling one-shouldered gowns? Yay or nay?

While Ryan Seacrest was interviewing Jennifer Garner on the red-carpet at the 80th Annual Academy Awards in Hollywood, Seacrest was abruptly interrupted by everyone’s favorite zany actor, Gary Busey. Busey, best known for his Best Actor Oscar (The Buddy Holly Story, 1978) and his short-lived Comedy Central show, I’m With Busey, hugged a terrified Garner and planted a kiss on her neck. Busey told People.com, “It’s about having fun.” What do you think of Busey’s bold moves: brash or benevolent? Discuss!

To no fault of her own, the always put together Kate Hudson had a hair-raising experience last night at the Los Angeles premiere of Fool’s Gold. No matter how impeccably styled, Kate’s hair person was no match for the 5-10 mile an hour winds that Los Angeles experienced during the red carpet arrivals. Ever the California golden girl, Kate smiled through it all looking flawless as usual.

The perfection that is Joy Bryant made this year’s most flawless red-carpet appearance at the premiere of Welcome Home Roscoe Jenkins at Grauman’s Chinese Theatre in Hollywood. Working a goddess-white-off–the-shoulder gown, gold jewelry, and a Rachel Zoe for Leiber clutch—this appearance was a perfect 10. Note to Hollywood executives: Please give Miss Bryant a role worthy of her talent, beauty, and magic she brings to the screen!

On the down low couple, Justin Long and Drew Barrymore made their first red carpet appearance at the premiere of Vince Vaughn’s Wild West Comedy Show in Los Angeles last evening. After her 2007 split from boyfriend of five years, rocker Fabrizio Moretti and a short romance with director Spike Jones, Barrymore has been on a coast-to-coast love tour with Long for the past few months. If one could bottle the chemistry between these two, one could solve the energy crisis! Look at them!

Playing arm candy, Tom Cruise escorted his wife, Katie Holmes to the premiere of Overture Films’ Mad Money held at Mann Village Theater in Westwood, California. The couple did their frisky newlywed show on the red carpet, as per most of their recent appearances. Holmes said to People.com, “Having [20-month-old daughter] Suri and Tom [on set] was wonderful…You think you love to do something and then you have the people you love there. It makes it a billion times better and you didn’t realize you were missing that before. It’s like ‘Oh my God, life can be this good.’”  What do you think their secret is? Discuss.
