Already in her second trimester, one would never know Kidman was with child by the looks of her lithe frame. Do you think Nicole is too underweight? Discuss.

It’s typical of America-centric Hollywood pundits to completely ignore international territories in box office reports. While the demise of New Line has been proclaimed in the media, its supposed cause - “The Golden Compass” - has been quietly raking in mountains of cash overseas. $233 million and counting, to be exact. Add in the pathetic U.S. gross and Compass is around $300 million. After worldwide DVD receipts, the film will probably make a small profit. Pretty impressive considering how bad it bombed in the U.S.
Neither New Line or director Chris Weitz has said anything about the sequels, which would likely be even more costly than the first (the books are insane). With the promising international performance and millions of Americans finding the first film on DVD, they could get green-lit. Here’s hoping!

Due to Nicole Kidman’s bun in the oven, the lovely and talented Kate Winslet will be taking over the role of Hanna Schmitz in Stephen Daldry’s big-screen adaptation of Bernard Schlink’s beloved novel “The Reader.” Winslet was offered the role initially, but was replaced by Kidman due to scheduling conflicts. Now she’s back, hooray! This will leave Kidman more time for pregnancy preparation, and calling Wong Kar-Wai five times a day to figure out how The Lady From Shanghai is going to get made.
Winslet will own the 2008 awards season. The Reader is scheduled for a December 12, 2008 release, and on December 19 the Sam Mendes-directed Kate-Leo (that Leo) period drama Revolutionary Road makes it to theatres. We’ve missed her in 2007. Her fierce bit turn in Romance & Cigarettes wasn’t enough!

Nicole Kidman’s publicist confirmed today what has been rumored for weeks—that the Oscar-winning actress is with child. The perpetually reserved Kidman (who is married to country star Keith Urban) stated via publicist that, “The couple [is] thrilled.” Kidman stirred the bump watch frenzy to fever pitch when she appeared at a charity screening of The Golden Compass for the Sydney Children’s Hospital in December (pictured above). Nicole Kidman as a mother? Discuss.

Nicole Kidman is reportedly suing London’s Daily Telegraph for suggesting that she prefers Jo Malone’s White Jasmine and Mint perfume to Chanel No. 5. Kidman is paid millions as the celebrity spokesperson for Chanel - perhaps you remember the annoying Baz Luhrmann commercial that played before every movie in 2005? The one with a pearly-white Kidman exclaiming “Drive!” and “I love to dance!” whilst smooching some hot Euro-stud? Anyway, this is blasphemy! Rubbish! Nothing touches Nicole’s body besides Chanel No. 5, Keith Urban, and that 12-year-old in Birth.
The Golden Couple
Tuesday, November 27th, 2007Nicole Kidman and her husband Keith Urban arrived in style at the world premiere of The Golden Compass in London. Mrs. Urban wowed the crowd in a cream silk and brocade dress by Balenciaga, while Keith played perfect arm candy in a standard black tux. What do you think of Keith and Nicole as a couple?

A ravishing Nicole Kidman (in Alexander McQueen) accompanied her country music star husband Keith Urban to the 41st Annual CMA Awards on Wednesday night. Though Urban went home empty-handed, he scored an impressive three nominations – for Entertainer of the Year, Album of the Year, and Male Vocalist of the Year. The Antipodean duo has been insanely busy as of late, with Urban stomping the globe on his “Love, Pain and The Whole Crazy World Tour” while Kidman promotes two new films, Noah Baumbach’s Margot at the Wedding and the blockbuster fantasy adventure The Golden Compass. In Margot she plays a high-strung, sarcastic mother, while Compass sees her as an icy child abductor. Yikes!
