Bona fide hottie Emile Hirsch accepted the award for Best Feature for Sean Penn’s moving film “Into the Wild” at the 17th Annual Gotham Awards in New York City. This early awards show honors the best of the year’s independent features. Director Penn was not in attendance - Hirsch accepted the award along with producer William Pohlad.
Other big winners at Tuesday night’s show included 20-year-old Juno star Ellen Page (X-Men: The Last Stand, Hard Candy), who took home the Breakthrough Actor award, and Michael Moore’s health care documentary Sicko, which won for Best Documentary Feature. Awards season is now officially under way…so what’s on the forecast for the coveted Golden Statues? Transformers for Best Picture!
