George Clooney left his hotel in good spirits but not all has been well for Clooney and his girlfriend, Sarah Larson. While in New York City for the filming of Burn After Reading, both Clooney and Larson were involved in a motorcycle accident, escaping with minor injuries. According to police reports, Clooney was driving his Harley-Davidson north on Boulevard East in Weehawken, N.J., at 3:30 p.m. when he collided with a 1999 Mazda Millenia. Clooney – accompanied by Larson – was passing on the right of the vehicle as it attempted to make a right turn on the two-lane road. Clooney suffered a hairline fracture of a rib and road rash, and Larson broke her big toe.

Kiefer Sutherland, last seen here accepting ACTRA Award of Excellence award at the residence of the Canadian Consulate General in Los Angeles, the day after his arrest on suspicion of driving under the influence early morning, September 25, 2007, in Hollywood. According to various reports, around 1 a.m., Sutherland, made an illegal U-turn when officers pulled him over, the 24 actor subsequently failed a field sobriety test. He was booked at the LAPD Hollywood station and was released at 5:42 a.m. on $25,000 bail. A court date for Oct. 16 has been set for Sutherland to appear regarding these charges. Because the actor was previously convicted of DUI in 2004, he faces a mandatory minimum sentence of four days in jail if convicted for his most recent arrest.

Sutherland is also currently serving a five-year probation term for the prior DUI. In 1989, he was arrested for DUI and carrying a concealed and loaded weapon. In a deal with prosecutors, he pleaded no contest to alcohol-related reckless driving, and the other charges were dropped.

In 1993, he was arrested for DUI, pleaded no contest for the second time to alcohol-related reckless driving. He was given the option of serving 12 days in jail or performing 211 hours of community service, choosing the latter. Before being stopped by police on Tuesday morning, Sutherland attended the FOX Fall Eco-Casino party at Area nightclub where he was photographed on the red carpet by Getty Images.

Jennifer Lopez was all smiles as she said hello to the students at P.S. 36 Union Port School in Bronx, New York. Lopez’s appearance at the school was to announce her and husband, Marc Anthony’s ‘En Concierto’ Tour, which she will co-headline. Lopez was overcome with emotion as she heard the school choir sing, erupting into tears of joy. Will you see Jennifer and Marc Anthony in concert?

America Ferrera became the first Latina in the history of the Emmys to win the award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series for her beloved portrayal of Betty Suarez on ABC’s Ugly Betty. Ever the gracious role model, Ferrera said of her show and win, “I think the show has done really, really wonderful things for the Latino community and Latinos in Hollywood and I hope that it just continues to do the same and I hope we have so many, many years ahead of us.” Viva America!

Old school and new school met when Tony Bennett and Christina Aguilera performed “Steppin’ Out,” a musical reprise from Mr. Bennett’s NBC special, “Tony Bennett: An American Classic” during the 59th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards in Los Angeles.
