Pictured here, one of four large Mastiffs was seized by animal services officers from the estate of actor Ving Rames in Brentwood, California. According to reports, an unidentified man was mauled to death by Rames’ dogs and found on the front lawn of his home. “We removed three mastiffs and one bulldog – they were the size of lions – from Rhames’ property,” said Capt. Matt Blake of the Los Angeles Police Department “but we have no solid evidence that they were the cause of death.” The victim was described only as a 40-year-old African-American and was employed in the home of Rhames. The actor was not home at the time of the mauling. The animals have been taken to an animal shelter and are being examined for traces of blood, Capt. Blake said. Reese Witherspoon smiled pretty as she was named as the first ever Avon Global Ambassador at Regent Beverly Wilshire in Beverly Hills. In her new role, Witherspoon will serve as the honorary chairman of the Avon Foundation, focusing on breast cancer, domestic violence, and emergency relief initiatives, in addition to her spokeswoman position for Avon’s beauty brand. With great awe, Witherspoon was impressed with the fact that “[Avon] has been able to effect real change in the communities in which it does business, and by how committed the company is to providing economic and personal fulfillment to women all over the world…[is] proud to be joining the great philanthropic work.” The 31-year-old, Oscar-winning actress and mother of two, wore a cream Nina Ricci cotton pencil skirt, layered cashmere and linen tanks, paired with snakeskin Manolo Blahniks for the big announcement.

Melanie Brown, aka “Scary Spice” of The Spice Girls and her lawyer Gloria Allred, addressed ongoing paternity issues with Eddie Murphy during a press conference this afternoon. Allred, claims that Murphy “has not paid one penny of child support” for the former couple’s daughter, said she plans to ask the court to award child support and “to decide what is reasonable.” Brown elaborated telling reporters, “I am here for one reason and one reason only – her name is Angel. Angel is my baby and Eddie’s. She will always know that she was planned and wanted by both of us, but I want her to know that she has two parents who desire to be responsible for her during her life and who love her so much that they want to be a part of it.”
